DACRES WOOD

Year 4 visited Dacres Wood this term to learn about invertebrates and different plant species. We were particularly looking forward to hunting for minibeasts under logs and foliage and pond dipping in search of unusual pondlife!

Dacres Wood is beautiful and we were lucky to have had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy all our experiences, fully.

Our guide, Jess Showed us around the woods and helped us to identify a range of living things. We asked and answered lots of questions and played some fun games.

The children showed amazing patience and perseverance while pond dipping.

They found a newt, water fleas, blood worms, a water boatman and a water louse! It was very exciting!

We even had some time for some fun in the park!

What a fantastic day!
