With Futures so bright we must write stories!

It’s always a pleasure to share positive stories about our children.

We have a budding journalist, Naomi. Enthusiastic and determined, she wrote to the head teacher about her idea for a school newspaper to share news, events and special features of our children.

Naomi would like to write the newspaper herself, but needs one thing – your stories! If you and your child have a contribution, please send it to schoolmail@stmichaels.lewisham.sch.uk. However, although we would like to share all of the stories, this may not always be possible.

Also, Aden and Sanchez have recently auditioned for another TV series after being given a in part a short film due to be released in the near future. We wish them luck in their showbiz careers.

Football is the theme in Year 3, where despite the restrictions, Elijah has had an amazing couple of months.

He has been playing in goal for Arsenal Under 8’s. He played against Manchester United under 8’s and made many magnificent saves – he even saved a penalty!

On Sunday 20th June his team, FD,  played in a final. They won 3-2 and all received medals as well as a trophy.

Have you ever watched what happens at night time in a garden or open space? Night-time trail cameras are really useful for working out who is visiting certain areas and how often. Many people will set up cameras in their gardens to monitor the comings and goings of their resident hedgehogs.

Daniel and Owen did some hedgehog spotting over half term whilst staying with friends. The children put hedgehog food out the night before and set up the camera which is specifically designed for night use. Then they waited to see what the camera had captured. What do you think they saw?

We hope you have enjoyed the stories shared so far – we can’t wait for you to share yours and Naomi cannot wait to write them.
