Music speaks to us all!

At St Michael’s we use Charanga, an award-winning primary music education programme, for lessons.THe children enjoy wide variety of music tuition. Djembe drums and Ukelele lessons take place weekly, delivered by specialist Music teachers from Lewisham Music Service. A few children also have guitar tuition, which is available in Key Stage 2 classes. Guitars can be loaned from Lewisham Music Service; contact the school office for more information.

St Michael’s is also fortunate to be part of the Primary Robins Project set up by Pimlico Opera. Each term the children have a new, specially prepared songbook of around 10 songs which are taught to them by Jack a singing teacher from Grange Park Opera.

Some children also take part in peripatetic drum lessons with DCP drumming – they are like mini rock stars!
