VECTOR DRAWING

This half term, Y5 will be learning that vector images are made up of shapes. They will learn how to use different drawing tools and how images are created in layers. They will explore ways in which images can be grouped and duplicated to support them in creating more complex pieces of work.

The National Curriculum states that a high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.

Y5 started off by creating images using paper shapes. Although they all started with the same shapes, the outcomes were all different. Here are some examples.

Y5 then moved on to using the main drawing tools within a software package – Google Drawings. The class identified the main drawing tools and proceeded to create some very impressive vector drawings.
