what does it mean to have a ‘buddy’?

At St Michael’s we have a ‘buddy’ system in place. Over the first half term, our Year 6 children are ‘buddied up’ with one of the Reception children. Throughout the year, the children have special time together to help develop and establish these friendships that will last the year – in some cases beyond!

Sometimes they read books, sometimes they play outside – always they have a great time building friendships.

As we are a split site school, the established buddy system is one of the ways we maintain our feel of ‘one school on two sites’.
