This week in Reception, we have been learning all about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Diwali is a special celebration that marks the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. We explored the story of Rama and Sita, learning how their bravery and kindness helped them overcome challenges and return home after a long journey.
The children have really enjoyed bringing the celebration to life through creative activities. They made their own colourful diya lamps, explored beautiful rangoli patterns using colour and shapes, and even designed their own mehndi patterns. It’s been a wonderful way to learn about different cultures and traditions through storytelling, art, and play!
