Year 1 have been very busy! Over the past few weeks, they have been exploring the basic concepts of measurement, including length, volume, capacity and mass. They have learnt to compare and describe size, height, weight of everyday objects using simple non-standard units such as cubes and cups. Through a variety of activities, they have begun to understand the language of measurement such as heavier/lighter, full/empty, longer/shorter as well as developing their skills to estimate and compare.
