We are so excited to share the amazing news that…
Our Living Eggs have arrived!..

and the children could not be any more excited!
Day 1…

We are so delighted to be able to share this experience with you so please do look out for regular updates! You never know, we could have our first chick by the afternoon!
Day 2…
No sign YET! The chicks are still snuggled up warm and tight in their shells, but the children have been working together to come up with some ‘Chick Rules’ by sharing ideas about how they will look after them. It is clear that the chicks are very lucky to be looked after by the most thoughtful and caring children!

Day 3…
We would like to introduce to you our first chick who was born at 9.08 this morning and was welcomed into the world by many smiley faces!

Day 4…
So I arrived at school this a morning and I could not believe my eyes; 8 more chicks were born over night! I could not wait for the children to come in and meet them!

9 cheeky chicks and 1 more on the way!…

And then there were 10!…
All of our eggs have now hatched and are snuggled up together in their new home for the next 10 days. However, we thought how will we know who is who and which one is which, so the children decided that they would name them! And now we can introduce you to….

Day 5…
The chicks have been keeping each other company, and have been curious about the many smiley faces looking back at them! The children have been talking about which one is ‘Chum-Chum’, which one is ‘Blossom’ and so on, and we’re so lucky that the children can tell exactly which one is which, and who is who! 😉

Weekend chick-sitting sleep over!…
We would like to say thank you to everyone who put their names forward to chick-sit for the weekend. We hope they have a wonderful experience and we cannot wait to find out what they get up to… We are certain that they will have an EGGscellent time 🙂

Day 6 & 7…
This weekend, the chicks had their sleep over and it looks like they all had the best time! Here’s what they’ve been getting up to…
The Chicks came to stay with us for the weekend. Yippee!!!
On Saturday we put them in the bath so they could have a splash around. They were very well behaved and seemed to enjoy playing with our rubber ducks! On Sunday we transferred them to a smaller bath so we could change them and give them fresh bedding.

Aiko was very helpful, attentive and responsible in looking after them. She helped transfer them into the bath by picking them up gently. She also fed them twice a day and gave them water. She even stood guard over them telling her brother off as he wanted to pick them up and play with them!

At night both she and her younger brother put them to bed by covering them up.

We loved having them and we even invited over the children that live next door to us and Aiko’s cousin so they could meet the chicks.
What a lovely experience for me and my children as they love animals.
Thank you 🙂
We are so delighted that you had a wonderful time and were able to extend this experience to friends and family! Thank you for taking such good care of them! We are truly grateful
Day 8 & 9…
The chicks went on a little visit to the Nursery and it’s fair to say that both the chicks and children had a lovely time! The Nursery children were even showing off their mark making skills by drawing beautiful pictures of the chicks!

Day 10…
So we had a lovely surprise when I checked my iPad this morning! The chicks had clearly had a wonderful time getting to know the classroom by having a little play whilst we were all at home!
Here’s what they have been getting up to!…

They even left us a little note!…

Day 11…
It’s fair to say that the chicks have become quiet the explorers because today they were off on another little visit… this time to see year 2! This was a lovely moment for them as it brought back lots of memories from when they looked after their chicks in Reception, but this was also a new experience for those recently joining our school. How wonderful that such abundance has spread its way through the infants!
