Easter

This term in Religious Education, Year 2 have been learning about the story of Easter. More specifically, they have been learning about different Easter symbols and how they help us understand the true meaning of Easter. We started by learning the Easter story and we worked together to sequence it in order.

Once we finished sequencing the story, we discussed some of the different symbols such as the cross, palm leaves, crown of thorns and how they fit into the story.

We discussed other symbols of Easter and sorted them into different groups.

We learned about the significance of the cross and we decorated our own.

We had a visit with Deacon David in St. Michael’s Church. He taught us about the symbol of water and how it is significant not only for Easter but for Christians as well. We also, looked around at some other symbols that remind us of Easter.
