Nursery News 16.12.22

Here we are at the end of the first term in the Nursery and it has been wonderful to see how much all the children have settled and grown in confidence.

We have had lots of fun observing the outcomes of the freezing weather. The children were so pleased to discover the toys we had left in water were stuck in the ice the next morning. They also loved telling us about the snowmen they’ve made and snowball fights they’ve had. We’ve enjoyed decorating gingerbread men and have loved sipping hot chocolate to help us get warm after playing outside.

We have been reading Stickman by Julia Donaldson and made stickmen puppets from pipe cleaners and tissue paper. The children have become very adept at hearing the rhyming words at the end of each line and enjoyed using the props to retell the story.

We loved being part of the Nativity performance, I was so impressed with them. We read the Christmas story and role played the Nativity in the classroom with our own Baby Jesus doll to look after in a stable.
