Year 5 and the Chocolate Factory

Year 5 have had a fantastic time creating their own chocolate bars as part of their DT project this term.

Linking with our learning about Africa, Fair Trade in Geography, and the ancient Kingdom of Benin in History, the children explored how chocolate is made and investigated existing chocolate products.

They then developed unique names and slogans, designed eye-catching and practical packaging, and carefully planned how to make their chocolate safely and hygienically.

The day itself was filled with excitement, with a real buzz felt around the school as the children made their chocolate bars from scratch and proudly showed off their finished creations.

Some bars may have been enjoyed on the journey home, so this is your chance to see just how amazing their chocolate designs were!
