Year 5 Teach the Teacher

This week, the tables turned in our classroom — Year 5 became the teachers!

As part of our 'Teach the Teacher' week, children got the chance to share something they're passionate about, and honestly, I learned so much. Here's just a flavour of what I picked up:

The offside rule, finally explained! After years of pure confusion, I now properly understand it — perfect timing for England v Argentina.

Crocheting — my first (very wonky) attempts, patiently explained by our budding textile expert.

Beybattle obsessed! I did not expect to fall this hard for Beyblades, but here we are.

A trip to Bulgaria — without leaving the classroom. I learned about traditional dress, delicious food, and even a few words of the language.

A crash course in the latest slang — I am now "clued up," though I make no promises about using it correctly.

Oreo cake — baked and taught by our resident dessert expert. I am pleased to report it was absolutely delicious.

What I loved the most wasn't just what the children taught me — it was how proud and confident they were doing it. Watching them explain, demonstrate, and answer mine and Ms Kaba's (many) questions with such enthusiasm was a joy to see.

A huge thank you to Year 5 for being such brilliant teachers this week. I have homework to do on my crochet skills!
