Year 5 Mission to Space

Year 5 recently enjoyed an exciting trip to the Science Museum, where they took part in the interactive workshop Mission to Space, linking perfectly with our Science unit this half term.

The children journeyed through space and time, learning about our solar system, how our understanding of space has evolved, and the mysteries that scientists are still working to solve. They were fully engaged in live demonstrations, explored cutting-edge technology, and even tested their skills to achieve a successful rocket launch! The workshop was certainly memorable—especially as it included some very loud explosions (ear defenders were available), which gave everyone a surprise… particularly Miss Thornton, who had several frights!
