Year 2 are off to a great start!
Our Year 2 pupils are having a wonderful time exploring new skills and knowledge this term.
In art, they've been discovering the fascinating world of texture and tone, learning how different materials and techniques can create depth and interest in their artwork – from rough and smooth surfaces to light and dark shading that brings their creations to life.
In maths, our young mathematicians are building their confidence with numbers, developing problem-solving skills and using hands-on resources to help them visualise mathematical concepts in exciting new ways.
Meanwhile, in geography, the children are becoming expert map readers, learning to use simple maps and compass directions to navigate their way around, understanding symbols and keys, and beginning to see how maps help us make sense of the world around us.
They also been learning about animals and their habitats and were able to create little bug habitats outside before the weather changed.

It's been brilliant to see their enthusiasm and growing independence as they master these important new skills!
