Year 1 at the Horniman

On Tuesday, 24th February, Year 1 went on a class trip to the Horniman Museum. The children had a great time exploring the museum and completed a workshop about animals and their habitats. They identified animals that live in a range of extreme environments, explored the features of real taxidermy animals to discover their amazing adaptations, and discussed some of the challenges these creatures face in our changing world… and what we can do to help.

They also explored the’ Voyage of the Deep’ exhibition which was inspired by Jules Verne’s ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’. There the children could see a range of different fish and underwater species, enjoy the soft play, colouring and a range of under the sea activities. The children were kept very busy and a wonderful day was had by all!
