Spring has Sprung

Spring has truly sprung in Reception, and the children have been fascinated by watching our chick eggs hatch into fluffy chicks right before their eyes. This exciting experience helped them understand how new life begins, with chicks symbolising growth, change, and fresh starts.

Inspired by what they observed, the children carefully created their own chicks using playdough, showing 'eggcellent' observational skills and wonderful creativity!

We also linked this experience with the meaning of Easter, learning that it is an important Christian celebration of new life and hope, remembering the resurrection of Jesus. To bring this learning together, the children worked collaboratively to create a beautiful Easter garden, reflecting the story and the signs of spring all around us.
