ASIA DAY
Year 4 had an amazing time celebrating Asia Day at school! We all dressed up in red and yellow, the colours of China, which we have been learning about during our Autumn term topic on Asia.
We began the day by travelling around the world—without leaving the classroom! We rotated around different stations, each one inspired by a different country in Asia. At one station, we tried origami and another, we practised writing Chinese letters and words, concentrating hard to get the strokes just right. We also made beautiful Chinese lanterns and had lots of fun practising how to use chopsticks. We had to pick up tiny objects and sort them into piles, which was tricky but very funny! Everyone agreed that the favourite station of the day was making sushi. We loved learning how it is prepared and enjoyed creating our own. We finished the morning off with a big Asian food feast which included the sushi we had made, samosas, poppadoms and spring rolls

In the afternoon, we explored rangoli patterns using colourful sand art, creating bright and detailed designs. We also watched a video that helped us learn a few simple sentences in Mandarin, which was exciting and helped us feel proud of how much we have learned.
Asia Day
Asia Day was a fun, hands-on way to celebrate our learning about Asia and China. We learned so much and had a fantastic day together!
