Y1: The Albany Theatre

Year 1 were given free tickets to go to The Albany Theatre in Deptford in support of the Every Child Matters Campaign. We got to see Pinocchio which was fantastic and the children loved every moment! It was a joy to see the magic light up in their faces!!

Whilst we was there we had the privilege of meeting with Damien Egan, the Mayor of Lewisham! He asked the children lots of questions and they enjoyed sharing their wonderful experience of the theatre with him. It was a really magical day and we would highly recommend you plan a visit and go see for yourselves!

“I’m going to ask my mum to take me again. I loved it”.
“The best bit was when all the bubbles came down when we tickled the whale’s belly”.
“I never met a Mayor before. That was fun”.
“I want to have my birthday there. It was so much fun and funny”.
Tickets provided through A Theatre Trip for Every Child, Lewisham:  a new giving scheme to provide a free theatre ticket for every 5 year old in the Borough of Lewisham.  ‘Every Child’ enables businesses and individuals to give a local child the chance to experience the magic of theatre.  These tickets were provided through L&Qs generous sponsorship for the campaign.  To find out more about the campaign, visit www.thealbany.org.uk/everychild
