At St Michael’s we feel it is important being an active voice for charities in our local area and further afield. We have therefore decided to take part in the ‘Jeans for Genes’ day to raise money for children with genetic disorders.
Life can be very difficult for these children: Some children look different and are often stared at and teased, some children have to take extra care to live a normal life every day and some children find it hard to communicate, understand and learn.
The money raised makes a real difference. It helps with equipment, like specialist wheelchairs, nursing and care services and respite. However, we can help in more ways than just raising money… ways that we can help are:
- Don’t stare
- Play and support
- Be patient and be kind
A massive thank you to all the children who were supporting this worthy cause – we are proud of the £259.85 which the children raised!
